According to the DBE, the Matric results release date for 2023 is the 20th of January.
As expected, the Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga will announce the outcome of the final exam on the 19th of January 2023. Students will access their Matric Results the following day.

How to Get Matric results online
You can access your Matric results in four ways, but the common ones are online and via SMS. You will need your phone to access the Matric results online and via SMS.
Here is how you can check your results online:
- Go to the Department of Basic Education (DBE) Website
- Click on the button for examination results
- Click on the NSC exam results
- You will be asked to put in your examination number
- More personal information may be required
- Click the search button

How to Get Matric Results on Your Phone?
You can receive your results on the phone by using SMS or USSD when the matric results 2023.
SMS
Text your examination number to 35658. Once your results are available, you will receive them. Please note that SMS charges are R1.50.
USSD
Dial *120*35658*. You may be asked to enter your personal information. Complete the process until you receive your results.
